Setting sail with no clear course? Creating a website is a whole venture.

Template-based, bargain DIY websites have their limits. So why restrict a rising business?
  • You’re an expert at what you do, but don’t have time to get that message across to a wider audience.
  • You feel your business doesn’t meet current digital standards and this is holding it back from expanding.
  • CSS, UX/UI, MySQL, SEO, JavaScript… All the nerdy jargon already has you like a fish out of water.
Social media alone can only bring your company so far. An actual website can open more doors for you.
  • You know how effective a good storefront can be for business and would like your own.
  • At times, competitors can push you to barely stay afloat, so you need something to keep them at bay.
  • You’re looking for an interface that fits your brand, captivates users, helps them learn about your business and trust it.

A strong, lasting brand isn’t just about looks, it’s about raising a following. A website can be its hub.
  • You need a fast, protected and user-friendly platform to help you with the daily running of your operations.
  • You want a self-sufficient website to streamline and amplify your business through a built-in e-commerce functionality.
  • By reliably having your website show up on Google, you’re set to bring in a steady stream of new customers.
We engaged the team at Aleta to take our brand and website to the next level and we are really impressed with the end result, both from a back-end and use-experience perspective.

Best Injury Lawyers

Best Injury Lawyers is a personal injury law firm based in Brisbane, Australia. Led by Principal Lawyer Ryan Stehlik, the company draws from past corporate experience in insurance, personal injury and compensation law to win cases.

Web Development Web Design Branding UX / UI Graphic Design

Over the years, the company has experienced sustained growth, leading to an increased necessity to enhance their online presence and overhaul their branding. Operating in a highly competitive field, the brand revamp needed to align with the bold company name while maintaining an approachable feel. The layout design adopts a generally lively and slanted appearance, incorporating a diverse range of visual elements to shape the branding.

The logo achieves harmony by contrasting a more human title-cased, slanted, modern font with a heavy-weighted, elevated “Best” – accompanied by a memorable gold ribbon – resulting in a confident and cohesive design. Similarly, the brand colours strike a balance between a serious backdrop of neutral deep blue and dark green hues and lighter, soft gradient equivalents, complimented by a vibrant gold accent colour.

We extended the use of the logo’s typeface, Massilia, as the company-wide font family, emphasising the application of oblique styles in headings and highlighted text to create a dynamic feel. In addition to the standard UI graphics such as buttons and navigation icons, we developed a set of custom icons, skillfully painting sometimes intricate and distressing concepts with gentler strokes.

A key interactive module we assembled – encompassing UX, design, and development – was the testimonial block. Given the intense competition from other law firms, the inclusion of clear and relatable client testimonials is crucial for instilling trust in prospective clients. Adhering to the overall slanted layout, we integrated a few, yet central components: a clearly quoted rectangular carousel, a concise testimonial, a relatable client name, an empathetic portrait, and, finally, a clickable, trustworthy Google review icon.

Juanita Richards

Juanita Richards is a Director and Photographer from London, UK working globally, predominantly between the UK, USA and Europe. Her work centres around self-expression, identity and optimism.

Web Development Web Design Branding UX / UI

Through talking with Juanita, we understood she needed a website refresh to set her apart, one that would be easy to navigate and importantly mirror her own, very personal work. Discussing her photographs, we laid out a set of driving concepts for her visual identity. Like her photographs, the website needed to feel bold, unapologetic, genuine yet still fun, friendly and inviting.

We honed in on a font that mimicked that feeling: a modern, plain yet sharp sans serif typeface hiding small, chamfer-like irregularities in different characters. This font –used for both logo and overall copy– was combined with a selection of distinct vibrant background colours to contrast and compliment the photos.

For a straightforward portfolio website like this one, we aimed to make navigation more enticing whilst still user friendly. So we bunched content together into just four different directions (top-right-bottom-left), allowing users to instinctively run through the pages and get a quick feel of Juanita’s work and character.

The result is a fresh, catchy and unique website that strikes a balance with Juanita’s dynamic, community-driven and truly human imagery. The site’s backend is now set up for quick uploads of the latest photo shoots so Juanita can independently manage everything.

A crucial part of any e-com website is the product page. In order to best guide customers through a product, and offering an in-depth yet also concise understanding of it, the page needed some “Product Features” section. Showcasing a combination of videos and photos, this module gives users quick and clear cues about the product.

Garnering a high appeal amongst the bikepacking community, kitgrids are a strong visual asset for the brand. Intersecting photography, graphic design and retouching, kitgrids have a page of their own within the Apidura website. Choosing amongst several cyclists, the kitgrid module allows users to swiftly see what each bikepack contains.

For such a niche discipline as bikepacking, it can be a challenge to help users find what they are after whilst at the same time teaching them about the sports. To deal with this, the page displays a custom filter tab to swiftly lead users to the products they’re after.

Pingascon

Pingascon is an online platform that connects sellers and buyers of timber from the Landes forrest in South-West France. The site lets vendors upload detailed ads whilst buyers scroll through the different uploaded offers.

Web Development Web Design UX / UI

Behind Pingascon is Violaine, who approached us seeking to create an online platform for the purchase and sale of mostly pine trees in the Landes region. For this purpose, the website had to be divided into two main parts: one for sellers to upload an offer, and another for buyers to scroll through the different offers.

The seller-focused part of the website consists of a detailed form users can easily fill in with very accurate information about their ad. Combining a mix of fields, tick boxes, sliders and file uploaders, the form is designed to let users smoothly navigate through it in an orderly manner.

The buyer-focused part of the website is a password-secured catalog of ads. The catalog is topped by a filter tab, allowing users to go straight to the kind of ads they are after. Each detailed, downloadable ad then shows the data of the offer, alongside different attachments and a custom Google map.

Once a buyer is set on an ad and ready to place an offer, they get redirected to a summary page, which also lets the user fill in details to the offer. The whole process allows for as a clear and transparent process to the users.

Patisserie Chérie

Patisserie Chérie is a home-based patisserie baking on demand business by chef Romain Bouillot. He specialises in French-inspired cakes and other pastries with a modern twist using fresh ingredients.

Web Development Web Design Photography

Romain reached out to us looking for help creating a website for his new business. He was also after some professional photos to bring his website and social media pages to life, including product, portrait and inspirational images along with videos.

An important part of the website included highlighting a specific pastry, which changed every few weeks. The editable module, paired with a faint parallax effect background, is designed to draw in users whilst still having a clearly commercial front to it.

Another important aspect of the site was to create a module to browse through cakes and quickly get a feel of them. For this, every cake has one main, descriptive product image which, in hover mode, shifts to a more zoomed in, inspirational shot, letting users picture themselves in that situation.

Showcase of product photography by Aleta for Patisserie Cherie

An essential part of this project involved creating a set of product images of the different Patisserie Chérie pastries. All these images needed to have a common look and feel, so standardising the process throughout different shoots was key.

I tried to make my website by myself, but finally decided to hire a professional, and I didn't regret it. Aleta Studio was brilliant throughout the process, front-end, back-end and corrections. I would definitely recommend them.

Would a personal, hands-on team be what you’re after?

Portrait of Designer Julien and Developer Emily of Aleta Studio

Hiya! We’re Aleta, a husband and wife, Barcelona-based web design and development studio.

Our journey to building websites started during a 2020 lockdown career rethinking, when we decided to change course and join our backgrounds in design, company management and coding. So we created a studio that would focus on what for us was essential to any business today: building and nurturing engaging online experiences.

Julien

Julien deals with everything creative, that is as long as it complies with his nit-picking love for order. A somehow triple French-American-British national from Barcelona, you’ll find him traveling with his old Hasselblad or discussing artsy films.

Emily

Emily runs all the front-end web development, often fixating on solving some intricate Javascript puzzle. Originally from Tokyo and Sydney, she enjoys theorising about the latest Drag Race episode or watching telenovelas to “practice her Spanish”.

Jamón

Jamón is our studio snoozer. A calico rescue cat, you’ll catch her sleeping on keyboards or pawing at some mouse video on Youtube.
